It passed away when private parties gave way to 50 dollar door fees for warehouses that are not even fucking air conditioned. when this shit got its start in the 80s, it was actually not too bad. the music wasnt repetitive.... there were a lot of innovative keyboard players coming up and the crowds were "private invite only"... those parties were good.

but then suddenly the "Crews" started appearing, and party organization stopped being more about having some fun, getting a bit messed up and listening to some tunes (plus make a few dollars), into make tonnes of cash, provide bare minimum accommodations and try to get as many people in and out of the door within the 24 hour period.

what is wierd is the later model lasted a lot longer than the initial model.
