If you have the power of the media to change perception that will change the overall society. Take the Dove campaign being run on major billboards and ads lately.

      great another shameless attempt at pandering to fat chicks who think it is ok to eat an entire bucket of mash potatos as a snack.

        not all women are fat because they eat too much- some are just genes.... ahem... you happen to be talking to a fat chick who eats VERY little.

          ...and even if they like to eat... does that REALLY make them less beautiful. Women are free to eat, just like men and it really ought not to deter their 'beauty'.

          and?

          most of the women who claim glandular disorders and "its not my fault" have often said this to me with a cheese burger in one hand and a diet coke in the other.. as if the one will cancel out the other. also, of the fat people in the country.. only a very small percentage have actual health conditions that actually cause their problems.

          the rest can be linked easily to other issues.

          now bullshit sites like:

          www.naafa.org/

          will make people believe a lifetime of poor habits and lack of motivation are acceptable, but does ignoring the problem make it any less dangerous?

          now, the women of the Dove campaign i have seen so far.. fall within acceptable body weight, easily.. and i do admit the expectations of the fashion industry set people up to fail.

          but to look at being fat "as a life style choice" as the link above advances it.. is dangerous to those who are more than just a little over weight.

            you have some interesting points but your ideas on fatness are extremely judgmental- I'm sorry, but the 'fat' women I know aren't eating greasy and high fat foods, but in fact, are that way due to genetics. Now this isn't to say that all fat women don't eat- there are those that are fat because they eat that way. It's their choice. If you don't like, shut the hell up because it obviously doesn't affect you.... and who the hell do you think you are to pass judgment on people because you don't like it? Here's my advice, stay out of other's people's business. People have the right to look and feel any damn way they want. Deal.

              ... and yes, I have met plenty of 'fat' people who are quite BEAUTIFUL. If you haven't, that's your own narrow mindedness.

                no, it is an issue of tastes. you have decided that the justifcation of fat is something we all have to embrace. quite the opposite is the case.

                believe it or not, not everyone likes fat chicks.. fat guys, fat whatever. and conversely not everyone likes big tittied girls with thin waist lines.. and not everyone likes my favourite female body type: pixie/waif.

                the one statement i stand behind from the above is, that sites like the naafa.org do promote a lopsided and unrealistic view of what human expectations should be.

                justify it all you want, but not everyone likes "junk in the trunk"

              ==================

              well, just like you i am human, and i judge every situation and person based on my experience and temperment. you as an "overweight reaction cow" have already prejudged my crass humour as my personal gosphel. see, life is kinda quirky that way.

              ==============

              noone said they didnt, i guess that is more of the "overweight reaction cow" at work. at the same time, people are allowed to react to it any way they want too. freedom is a wonderful thing.. we dont all have to fucking agree about anything. and thank fucking gawd for that.

              now, maybe you should learn to "Deal" with this concept and get the fuck over yourself.. or, and i expect this to be the real reaction.. continue down the path of self righteous indignation and suffer ego blow after ego blow at the slightest provocation.

              heheh later!

                      i guess all you need is to label him right.. and all the pent up homosexual issues and conspiracy rage just autopilot it the rest of the way home.

                          heheh, if you consider the repetitious use of a poorly thought out name pun and veiled homosexual advances in both PM and public forums a sparring match.. well then i guess that is what his modis apperhendi is.
